Cumin Seeds are one of the most commonly used and versatile spice in India is the small boat shaped cumin seed. It is earthy in flavour and can be used whole, ground or toasted. It is very aromatic when dry roasted slightly and added as a base to make masalas. Fried in a little oil and added as seasoning to dhals and dry vegetable dishes, the seeds can be sprinkled on pulao or used as a garnish on raita.
