Ham and Musto Toastie

By Published On: 4 Feb '20Last Updated: 14 Apr '24

AS WINTER IS APPROACHING and you feel like a pick me up either for breakfast or lunch, my toastie is a perfect treat.

This magnificent easy to cook toastie recipe is a wonderful combination of taste and flavour. It all starts when you transfer the prepared sandwich from your benchtop to the hot pan where foaming butter is awaiting the arrival of breads. As the bread is toasting, it absorbs the musto (English mustard and tomato sauce) spread and the flavour that is released when the ham is being heated through the toasting process is truly one of life’s great pleasures.

This is a simple and wonderfully enjoyed ham and cheese toastie with a mouth-watering easy home made spread. You can make it in your non-stick frying pan or if you want it pretty, use your grill pan.

Notes

You may add a slice or two of thinly sliced tomatoes in step 3 if you fancy a toastie with tomatoes.
If you find it hard to spread butter on breads, freeze the breads for a few minutes before you start to prepare toasties.
