R U OK?

A few days ago, I received an unexpected package in the mail… I was thrilled to receive it, as it is not very often that I receive parcels. When I opened it, I was overjoyed to see a neatly packed bubble wrapped care package. On opening the contents, my eyes lit up and I was lost for words. I was totally touched by the kind gesture of the sender of this package, Afra from @ohthatbegood Cakes. Then, I saw these cookies and two sachets of teas, one of which is my favourite ie Ginger and Masala blend.

I was overjoyed with her kind gesture and made my way to the study to check out her website www.ohthatbegood.com. I found her website to be one of the most interesting and colourful websites I have laid my eyes on. She works wonders with just five ingredients – Flour. Butter. Milk. Sugar. Eggs. Take a cuppa and treat yourselves to the confessions of this multi-talented passionate Sri Lankan-Kiwi baker! While you are there, don’t forget to read all about her cakes, latest events, workshops, her fundraising initiatives and What’s On?

In collaboration with @the_chairoom and @leena_ratanjirani, Afra has launched these delightful Cuppa and Conversation Packs for the RU OK? charity.

Oh That Be Good donates 10% from every pack sold to R U OK?

Nothing shows more goodwill than when a group gets behind a great cause together. If you want to do something positive to raise mental health awareness, and be a part of Afra’s fundraising initiative for 2022, please do not hesitate to get in touch with her. Unfortunately, final orders for these packs are closed for 2021.

Thursday, 9 September 2021 is a national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask “Are you OK?” and support those struggling with life’s ups and downs.

Pull up a chair. get behind a great cause. create meaningful conversations.

A huge thanks to Afra for the most perfect looking, crisp, golden brown, flower pressed biscuits that are the best I’ve ever had and the chai to drink with a friend or two creating meaningful conversations.
